Research Vessel

VN 182 Andrias Reinert

Firum's research vessel, Andrias Reinert, is used for various types of exploration and research work. Many projects, conducted by Firum researchers, require tests and data that are obtained from ocean based operations.

Some of Andrias Reinert's main tasks represent: lice trawlings, plankton surveys, seabed surveys, hydrographic surveys and current measurements. The vessel is also used to deploying and retrieving various measuring equipment. It is possible to measure and document current speed relative to the seabed, while the boat is sailing. Moreover, Firum is responsible for making depth surveys in areas with incomplete data in order to produce more complete sea charts.

Firum acquired Andrias Reinert in 2016. The research vessel is named after the late Andrias Reinert (1934-2019), who was a scientist and director at Firum 1974-1995.
